HOW WE'RE SMOKELESS

Fires smoke because of 3 reasons: lack of heat, lack of oxygen, or the wrong fuel. The key to a smokeless system is creating more airflow and burning a hotter fire. So, what does smokeless mean exactly?

Step 01

X AIRFLOW™

The X Airflow raised air vent design on the bottom of the fire pit enables oxygen to feed the fire even after significant ash build up.

built to last

We build all our fire pits right here in Lancaster, PA. Made with heavy gauge 304 stainless and corten steel, our fire pits will last a lifetime and they’ve got the warranty to prove it. 304 stainless steel is one of the most well used and proven steel alloys known to man. Used in everything from kitchen appliances to automotive parts, stainless steel will last forever and resist rust and corrosion. Corten Steel, also known as weathering steel, arrives with a blue steel finish and creates an earthy protective covering as it lives in the elements. At Breeo, we build our products with the best materials so you can buy it once and use it for a lifetime.

frequently asked questions

The shine of 304 Stainless Steel or the architectural vibe of Corten Steel? Truth is, you can’t go wrong. Both metals will last a lifetime. Used in commercial kitchen appliances and automotive wheels and rims, 304 Stainless Steel is designed for sleek performance. Corten Steel, on the other hand, is engineered to develop a weathered iron oxide surface coating (patina), protecting your fire pit from the elements the same way it does for bridges and building facades around the world. Your Corten fire pit will arrive in a blue steel finish, and will develop the weathered patina over time. Whether you choose Stainless or Corten, your smokeless fire pit is built to withstand the elements and the test of time.

The key to achieving maximum smoke reduction is a very hot fire spread evenly throughout the fire pit. Moving hot coals toward the outside wall will be helpful as well. This will provide more heat in the double-walled air chamber, which in turn will provide a more aggressive air current up through the air chamber, forcing that secondary combustion which is essential to making a fire smokeless.

Please note that adding bigger logs to your fire can cause the fire to burn cooler, so start by using smaller pieces then slowly adding bigger logs as the fire builds. As for stacking the wood, our best recommendations are as follows: Start by adding firestarter or dry shreds of paper or cardboard. Then, surround the fire starter with small pieces of kindling or dry twigs. Once the smaller pieces of kindling are burning well, carefully add larger, split logs (3-4" in diameter) one at a time. We recommend stacking the wood perpendicularly in a log cabin style. Also be sure that your wood has been dried sufficiently before attempting to burn. For more info, check out our article here.

We recommend cleaning out your fire pit after at least every 3-4 uses to avoid ash build-up. Ash build-up can cause the airflow in the bottom of the pit to be blocked, which in turn can cause a less smokeless fire. The best way to remove the ash from your fire pit is to use the Breeo Ash Shovel or a vacuum designed for removing ash. Always allow sufficient time for the ashes to cool before attempting to remove them.

It all depends on what your needs are and what you value most! If you value portability and enjoy taking your fire pit on excursions with you, the Y Series fire pit is built to take on the road, and ideal for car camping or just a smaller outdoor space.

If you're less likely to take your fire pit camping but love hosting parties and cooking over the fire, the X Series lineup is for you. X Series fire pits come in 4 sizes: X19– best for small spaces, X24– our bestseller and ideal for most spaces, X30– our perfect for hosting large parties and cooking lots of food, and the X42, our largest pit yet.

If you prefer a more stylish and sophisticated look and don't plan to cook over the fire, your best option might be our Luxeve® Model.

Breeo fire pits work through a double-wall, secondary combustion design. Basically, when the fire is burning well, the walls heat up and the hot air rises through the gap between the two walls. The air exits the wall cavity through the line of holes around the rim. This pressurized, heated oxygen mixes with the smoke and causes it to reburn. This is called secondary combustion.

While we can't guarantee that our fire pits will never produce any smoke, you can be assured that, with the proper steps, a Breeo™ fire pit will produce significantly less smoke than a conventional fire pit. To achieve a smokeless fire, it is very important to take the proper steps when building the fire. The amount of smoke produced depends greatly on how well the fire is built.

#Repost breeo ・・・ What size fire pit is right for me? We get this question all the time! Our X Series line has the same smokeless technology and cooking capabilities in each size, but you’ll need to decide which is best for your lifestyle. While the sizes obviously vary, the amount of people you can fit around and cook for on each fire pit is the big differentiator. For our X19, we typically recommend anywhere from 2-4 people, for the X24, we recommend 4-6, and for our X30, we recommend 6 or more. Come see our assortment of breeo fire pits and accessories in store!
